He doesn't attempt to leave, but continues to complain about his mic being cut. The police were not arresting him when they pulled him from the mic. The female cop even says "we're not...we're not!" to his question of "why are you arresting me?" They are merely escorting him out, which is their complete right to do. Only after he becomes erratic, running back towards to mic, and to Sen. Kerry, do they attempt to restrain him with handcuffs. I don't care who you are, you don't run towards a political figure. It's viewed as threatening. After he refuses their attempts at arrest multiple times, and after they give him several verbal warnings, even saying "if you don't stop, I will tase you," the police proceed to do exactly what they warned. And what is your interest in all of this; what do you *personally stand to gain* by defending the tasing of an unarmed student who spoke truth to power? This video IS, in FACT, evidence of the "police state" that we Americans have allowed this country to become. I agree with you that this was in no way an act of political intolerance or evidence of American fascism. And the 60's protests/Kent State comparison is completely out of line. Meyer is a knucklehead looking for publicity. Escalating this into a civil rights violation cheapens real instances of abuse and feeds this guy's need for attention.
