Not often enough do I come across a band that I can just get in to.  One of those bands I create my own mobile, private jam session to (my car on the way home).  The Black Keys are a band like that.  I first heard of them in Black Snake Moan, with their single “When the Lights Go Out.”  After that I was blown away to find that they had a big history of albums and a decently large following.  Soon I had all their albums and saw them in concert at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.  Needless to say, the show was badass.

The new album seems more upbeat than their older stuff, and at the same time more mellow.  It still rocks, and the simple combination of drums and a fat guitar still amaze my ears.  Also, the guitarist can grow a mean beard!  Definitely worth a listen!

I know I’m way behind on the times here, but I just signed up for Twitter, another of the social networks that’s gaining a big following.  Apparently it’s big in the blog world because of its ability to network with others, so as I’m trying to jump back into daily writing, I’m all for whatever drives more traffic here.

While I get a few hits from my Facebook profile, it’s not the best networking tool.  Most of my friends are former HCO co-workers anyway, and I don’t think they even know how to read.  While I like the networking abilities of Facebook, the simplicity of Twitter is what attracted me in the first place.  So whoever is on Twitter, feel free to “follow” me!
