Got a new tattoo today with Kristin. It’s our wedding date in roman numerals, “X XIII MMVII.”. There’s no significance of the Roman numerals, other than the look of them.

That makes it my third, and I still have a few ideas for more. I’d like to get a sleeve, but that takes time and money.

Kristin got the same one, but hers is smaller and a little skinnier.

Your favorites? I like the sentimental connection of the Beckam’s Hebrew tattoos, and since I’m such a John Mayer fan, I like his new sleeve. A lot.

Getting one makes me want to go get many more, but I’ve waited a good deal of time between getting mine. I prefer to create my own from something that has a connection with me. My two previous ones are my middle name, Takara, in its native kanji in a thick circle on my back, and two stars on my hip, symbollic of me and Kristin. It’s a little sappy, but we plan to get smaller stars added as we have kids. I like it.

I want a forearm tattoo, likely something linked to music or a favorite artist or lyric. I also want to add to my back tattoo, most likely get some color koi fish to match the Japanese theme.

One of these days…

  1. Great idea – since my wife and I are planning the same thing. V V MMI

What font did you ask them to use?

  2. We actually used a pic as a template, and he kinda did the font on his own. We used this pic: http://socialitelife.celebuzz.com/images/2007/11/eva_longoria_111607_0007.jpg

We liked the placement and the thickness. Mine is a little thicker and larger than the wife’s. Good luck!

  3. I like the idea of this tattoo, and it looks really good — the type of tattoo that ought to make people ask about its significance.
